I went to register. My Vortex e-mail has a + symbol in it so I keep all my spam under control (forums+vortex@...). Gmail even suggests using it so you can tell where stuff came from. It's also a valid part of any e-mail address.... So I couldn't even register to report this. I ended up using FireBug to edit the HTML on the registration page to add back in the + and continue on registering, which it let me without any problems. So 2 bugs. 1) + is a valid e-mail address character 2) You really should revalidate everything before registering. The 'readonly' flag only works so well with people that have Firebug.
